All libraries will be closed Good Friday 29 Easter Sunday 31 and Easter Monday 1 April. Saturday 30 March all libraries are open as normal expect New Earswick which will be closed. Our reading cafes at Rowntree Park, Hungate and Homestead Park will remain open. as usual.

Drop-in, browse and borrow – you’re sure of a warm welcome!

We have a welcoming cafe serving a variety of food and drink.

You can use a PC. Please use our booking webpage to book a session.  You’ll need your library card number and PIN to log in.  Alternatively just give us a ring to book a session.

Study spaces are available, on the first floor. There is a customer lift giving access to the first floor study space, Local History collection and Archives. Book a space in the reading room at York Explore.

If you still love reading. but find it difficult to get to your local library, our Home Library Service offers you the chance to get the books that you love to read delivered straight to your door.

Tech Assist: Every Thursday 6pm – 7pm, A one to one session to help customers complete a specific task on-line, please book by calling (01904) 552828

Getting there

The number 2 and 2a Park and Ride and the First York Buses 5 and 5a stop on Museum Street a minute or two away from the Library.

There are storage spaces for bicycles, but no parking spaces.
