Shell Shock, Trauma and The Mind – Past, Present and Future Developments in Mental Health Care

Do you have questions about mental health care in York? Would you like to learn more about past, present and future psychiatric treatments? Join local experts on the day following World Mental Health Day for a fascinating and topical panel discussion.

We’ll investigate the current picture of local mental health care, new techniques and approaches, how things have changed over the decades and what might be next for experts in this field, while you enjoy complimentary refreshments.

There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask the panel questions, and share in their expertise.

Dr Jessica Meyer University Academic Fellow in Legacies of War University of Leeds, She has written extensively on the history of shell shock.

Dr Kim Bevan Head of Community Services at The Tuke Centre York

Dr Tracy Richardson Clinical Psychologist and the clinical lead for the Post-traumatic Stress Disorder at The Tuke Centre
