John Gilham’s most recent collection, “Learning to Breathe” came out from Stairwell Books in 2015. He says his main subjects are Love, Death, Rage, Railways and Fosdyke.
Pauline Kirk is the author of six novels (three written as PJ Quinn), and ten collections of poetry. She is also Editor of Fighting Cock Press.
Nick Boreham graduated from Glasgow University with a master’s degree in creative writing in 2011 and has belonged to the York Poetry stanza since 2013.
Hannah Stone has published Lodestone (2016) and Missing Miles (2017)She co-edits Algebra of Owls ezine and is poet convenor for the Leeds Lieder Poets and Composers Forum.
Janet Dean is co-editor of ‘The Friargate Anthology’, and has published her poems in magazines and collections. She is a member of York Stanza.
Richard Carpenter is a retired GP who is exploring poetry in his retirement. He is a member of York Stanza.
Katie Greenbrown is a York-based spoken word poet writing and sharing whimsical, beautiful, quirky and funny work at Open Mics and DiY events around the city. She was November 2016’s Say Owt Slam winner
Will Kemp has won the Keats-Shelley Prize, the Cinnamon Pamphlet Competition and the Debut Collection Award. Cinnamon has published his four collections, including The Painters Who Studied Clouds (2016).
Rose Drew is an activist, poet-anthropologist and mom, and has co-hosted York Spoken Word for almost 12 years. Rose co-owns York’s hometown press, Stairwell Books. Her favourite places: a lab analysing skeletons; in front of a large audience, sharing poetry.
Patrick Lodge’s work has been published, anthologised and translated in many countries from the USA to Vietnam. His two latest collections, An Anniversary of Flight, and Shenanigans were published by Valley Press in 2013 and 2016 respectively.
Alan Gillott has been writing poetry, of sorts, since he was a teenager. With Rose Drew he runs Stairwell Books small press and hosts the monthly Spoken Word night.
Jenny Hill and Simon Nisbett perform music for Voice and Lute from the Tudor era. They regularly give recitals in North Yorkshire, and are now appearing in Elizabethan costume.
