Clint Wastling’s poetry has been published in Blue Nib, Dream Catcher, Strix, Marble and online with The Algebra of Owls amongst others. He’s also been published in the USA in Parody and Avocet. Maytree Press published a collection entitled Layers at the start of 2020. Clint has also had two novels: The Geology of Desire, is an LGBTQ thriller set around Whitby in the 1980’s and Hull during World War II. Tyrants Rex is a sci-fi/fantasy novel set 3000 years in the future, both are published by Stairwell Books.
Jo Young has served in the British Army for over twenty years and has now settled in her home town of York with her young family. Jo’s poetry has been published in several anthologies and journals including The Rialto, The Scores, Emma Press and most recently Words for the Wild. She won the 2017 Ink Sweat &Tears/Café Writers Pamphlet Commission Competition and the resulting pamphlet ‘Firing Pins’ is available from IS&T Press.
Melody Clarke spends her working life in York, writing and editing research papers and funding bids. She is gradually working her way through the University of York’s accredited evening classes in creative writing, and is a member of the York Stanza poetry group. Her memoir piece, Waiting for the Dark Clouds to Go, was published in the Guardian, and a flash fiction Annunciation was shortlisted by Artificium. Her poem Romancing the Stoned was published on a model sushi in 2014 as part of the Jawspring Poetry/Art exhibition in London, earning her the little-vaunted title of Sushi Laureate. She is a 2018 Northern Short Story Academy Award winner.
