We are working with Coaching York to provide free 45 minute ‘taster’ coaching sessions during the afternoon of Thursday 18th May.

Coaching York is a social enterprise keen to extend the benefits of coaching beyond the workplace and into local communities.

Coaching is the process by which people can explore, in confidence, matters that are important to them – an opportunity maybe, clarifying a situation, determining priorities and direction, or just simple problem solving.

The concept is simple – there are precious few opportunities to have a really good and purposeful conversation, especially with someone who is a skilled listener, is non judgemental, is not going to press their own solutions on you, and is impartial.

Many definitions of coaching exist. One that we at Coaching York favour is ‘You’ve got the answers, my job is to help you find them!’ And it all starts with a conversation.

Week Commencing 15th May is International Coaching Week – an invitation for individuals, organisations and communities to celebrate coaching. All sorts of events will be occurring in York (details on our website).

We hope to see some of you soon – if you leave your name and contact details at the Reception Desk at the Library, we will contact you to arrange a suitable time to meet.

Good wishes and thanks
